Concurrent Audit

Ongoing, transaction-period concurrent audits for banks, NBFCs, and corporates — independent testing of controls, exceptions, and regulatory reporting during the year, not only at year-end.

Concurrent audit provides independent assurance during the year — testing transactions, controls, and regulatory reporting in the period they occur, not months later at year-end. PJRJ runs concurrent audit programmes for banks, NBFCs, and corporates that need continuous exception reporting, branch or process coverage, and timely escalation of irregularities.

Who it's for

  • Banks and NBFCs requiring concurrent audit of branches, credit, or treasury processes
  • Corporates with lender or board mandates for ongoing process assurance
  • Multi-location businesses needing periodic independent testing between statutory audits
  • Organisations remediating prior concurrent or internal audit findings

Deliverables

  • Period concurrent audit plan aligned to risk areas and reporting calendar
  • Transaction and control testing with exception logs
  • Period reports for management, audit committee, or the appointing bank
  • Escalation of material irregularities within agreed timelines
  • Follow-up on prior period observations until closure

Our approach

  1. 1Agree scope, locations, sampling, and reporting format with the appointing authority
  2. 2Map high-risk processes — credit, cash, KYC, regulatory returns, or operations
  3. 3Test current-period transactions with evidence-backed working papers
  4. 4Report exceptions promptly; summarise trends in the period pack
  5. 5Coordinate with statutory or internal auditors where findings overlap

Concurrent audit only works if findings arrive while the period is still open. Our teams deliver partner-reviewed packs on calendar, written for bank inspectors and management — not generic checklists filed too late to matter.

Concurrent audits are delivered across Delhi NCR branches and pan-India locations as the engagement requires, with coordination from our Delhi and Gurgaon offices.

Concurrent audit is a bank- or management-mandated continuous check — typically on a branch, borrowing account, or high-volume desk — not an annual statutory audit done monthly. Scope is the sanction letter or the board minute: cash, KYC, end-use, stock statements, or whatever the concurrent circular names. We staff it so the same tester is not also preparing the books they test.

Reporting cadence (weekly flash, monthly pack) is in the engagement letter. A concurrent report that is three weeks late is an internal-audit product wearing the wrong name.
